Stampotique - Welcome to your 21st

Well this was suppose to be a 21st card for my nephew but never quite made it.  Problem is I need to make two of everything and it just took forever to come up with this one that Lord knows where the heck I've put the other little key embellishment.  Especially since moving house - I suspect it will be a one off card.

STAMP:
Welcome Door (Stampotique.com)
Eric (Stampotique.com)

INKS :
Distress Ink Pads (Ranger) - combination of colours as desired.
Memento Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko)

PAPERS:
Bazzill brown
White for stamping & insert.
Acetate

ACCESSORIES
Copic Markers - Brown tones
Key embellishment and brad
Fleur Di lis Punch (Carl Craft)
Circle Punch or circle die

Cut out the circle in the door & insert.  Covered the hole from the inside of the card in acetate and lined the card.
Sponged a background in the insert using the distressed inks and stamped "Eric" on scrap.  Coloured him in and cut him out & pasted him inside the card.
Used the Fleur Di lis as the hinges for the door.
**Note :You have to make a hole to the insert of the card to & make sure it lines up when constructing it.

Hope you like it.
Check out www.Stampotique.com      Love their stamps..

If you ever want to do a workshop together  - let me know.  I could use the practise and the imput.

Tulip Trio's - Blockheads

Hi.  Long time  - No Blog.  Well I've been quite busy crafting just in the last couple of weeks and thought I'd load a few of my creations.  Some copied.  Some inspired and some original.  Yes.  I've actually  - finally come up with a few of my own cards.
These are my own design:

Tulip Card Set (fit C6 envelope)
STAMPS :
Itty Bitty Background (Stampin Up - retired stamp)
Weathered (Stampin Up - retired stamp)
Tulips (Blockheads.com)
INKS :
Stampin Up
PAPERS :
White
Various coloured card stock.
ACCESSORIES:
Copic Markers

The Tulips heads were stamped onto scrap card stock and the middle cut out and mounted to give a 3D effect.
The edges of the white card were sponged with the main colour accent.
All the cards have a insert with a tulip motif as does the envelop.

Hope you like them.
**Unfortunately Blockheads.com have/are closing down and these lovely stamps and their other lovely designs, which came on rubber sheets will no longer be available.

Xmas Cards 2010

I was actually proactive this year with my Xmas cards and did manage to get a few done for my relatives in Italy.

I had a lot of help from Stampin' Up.

At the workshop we completed 16 cards in total. This punch art card was done using the square lattice embossing folder on white and green card. The white card had shimmer paint lightly rubbed over it giving it a pearl look. The pudding was done using the large circle punch in brown & a base cut off it. The frosting was another circle hand cut and hi lighted with stickles and the "holly" was stamped in green on green card from the Stampin' Up - Christmas Classics stamp set and then cut out.

The sentiment was done using Tiny Tags stamps and punch set and the "merry" was also stamped on the envelope in co -ordinating colours. The pudding was adhered with 3D foam. So simple.
Dasher Card
Card stock used for this card : Early Espresso, Naturals Ivory, Confetti Cream.
Stamps: Stampin' Up - Dasher, Perfect Punches.
Punches : Circle, border punch.
Inks : Early Espresso, Versa Mark, Crumb Cake.
Marker : Early Espresso.
Sundries : Gold embossing powder, Clear Embossing powder, Lace, Colour Spritzer Tool.

The trick on this card was to stamp the body of Dasher with Early Espresso & the horns with Versa Mark clear emboss the body but gold emboss the horns.
The edges of the Confetti Cream is spritzed with the Early Espresso marker as is the edges of the envelope.

The Perfect Punch sentiment is gold embossed & adhered with 3D dimensional tape.

This is my version of the card using Stamp It - Leafy Antlers, Filigree Deer: Stampin' Up - Snow Swirled sentiment.

The Bauble Card
Cardstock : As shown.
Ink : Matching cardstock.
Patterns Designern Series Paper Stack in matching colours
Stamps : Stampin' Up - Delightful Decorations, Sentiment of choice.
Punch : Stampin' Up - Ornament Extra Large, Modern Label Extra large, Word Window Large.
Ribbon : 1/8" matching
Sundries : Swiss Dot Embossing folder.
To make the bauble, stamp and punch 3 baubles all the same. Fold down the middle and glue them back to back to create a 3D bauble.
Construct the card as shown.

International Driver's Permit - RAC rort

Going overseas?
Intend driving whilst overseas?
Naturally you would want to be a responsible Australian Tourist and make the appropriate arrangements to ensure you are legally able to do so.

The cost of doing the right thing is going to depend on where you live in the country.

The only places which are authorised by the Australian Government to issued International Driving Permits are the Royal Automobile Clubs (RAC’s)

An International Driver’s permit in Queensland will cost any applicant $25
Victoria will cost any applicant $32.50
South Australia - $30 for any applicant
Northern Territory - $30 for any applicant.
New South Wales - $31 members and $46 for non members
Tasmania - $25 members and $35 for non members.
Western Australia - $30 members and $50 for non members.

The RAC preforms no other duty or service other than to fill in the document and process it. Obviously this is harder to do in some states than in others.

It should be a regulated set fee across the country and as it is only a "one off" standard processing fee I can not see the justification in the discrepancies other than selective abuse of their authority.

Fortunately you can download the application and send it off to the RACQ. (Royal Automobile Club of Queensland) They obviously are more concerned about responsible driving rather than rorting travellers.

Decisions. Decisions

I've finally bit the bullet & made what I think is a substantial investment with Copic Markers.

I chose Copic Sketch Markers as opposed to the Ciao & Originals. I'm hoping they will be more versatile for paper craft. However choosing which colours was a more arduous task. I printed out the entire colour range & then tried to decide which basic colours I would use the most. From there I decided on getting at least 3 shades in that colour range. In the end I bought 43 markers including a blender marker but am missing a “red” range. (They didn’t have the reds I wanted in stock).

I scoured the internet both locally & internationally for the best price & found http://www.oozak.com/ to beat them all. Together with the delivery charges (which is determined by weight) I managed to justify the purchase to myself.

Rusty at Oozak’s was very patient and extremely helpful with my enquiries and all my questions were addressed within 24hrs (Take into account the time difference in the US). Very impressive.

Can't wait to use them.....

Copic Markers

For some reason, I've got it into my head that I may need Copic Markers. I've always thought that Copic's were similar to Marvy La Plume markers - wrong! They are very expensive but when I see results others get by using them..... I'm thinking maybe it's the way to go.
If you want a really great run down this is the best explanation I've found to date that covers everything in a logical and objective manner check this site out. Makeesha did a great job :
